No @J3ff, did not say I went. Was not me that married into money...no boating in the keys for me. I went down there 40 years ago to key west..honey moon 1st wife...
My phone wont pick up on the color. We hit the reef monday and the colors out past 40 ft are amazing. We stopped by this spot and found a queen conch the size of an NFL football. Took some pics and back on her way. Im hoping to find a way to transfer pics from our under water camera to my phone. We have some good shots of a sting ray and a good sized baracuda checking us out.
Well if you're looking for something to do on Saturday, the genius's down here are throwing a covid party.. might drive by and stay up wind of all the boats to take a look. 110% going to be a cluster F****
I wouldn’t be into the whole DJ party thing, but I’d love to come look at the badass boats. If I have an overnight in FLL, who I can I look up for a ride? 😁
Yeah, there's no way I'll be stepping on land, but a quick 30 or so min anchor out somewhere while eating lunch and watching the boats sounds good. Doing a sunset cruise tonight and then Mosquito bank on Friday possibly! Sandbar Saturday.. not sure yet, but I've got a loaner boat that sips gas so will be all over the place!
Well according to the FL gov. we aren't turning anything back... sooo. oh well.. I'll just keep boating with my one or two friends... and we'll go from there.
Yes but we all know that while that might be a problem... The massive protests didn't help!
That’s good. The company I work for is based in Florida and relys heavily on leisure travel. If we can get Mickey Mouse to open his playhouse, that’d be great. Can you Floridians work on that? Thanks.
Some of the beaches will close for the fourth, people just have no sense...I don't see any turning back now...the heard will get it and hope I'm one of the strong ones..
Covid? Its coral/rock exposed at low tide. Great place to look for bait, shells, snorkel etc. There is some seagrass washed up on the sand dunes. Then you have mangroves behind the sand dunes and behind that opposite the ocean is a lagoon.
There's also plenty of drift wood scattered along the beach.
There was much more sand before Irma and seagrass will get worse as summer goes on.
This is an island in the keys, where there are not long stretches sandy beaches.
Florida continues to say hold my beer... I've posted some pictures from this place, but have not been there in a while... this is what the sand bar looked like today..

This is is my kind of beach. No one but us.
I much prefer the coral/mangrove islands.
