@aero3113 Four will be fine. Six just gives a little more light back in the corners. Just pay attention to where you normally perform maintenance: batteries, generator, spark plugs, and the other usual suspects.
@Cableguy Greg I wired a new switch at the helm, but you could wire them to the cockpit lights. I didn't find a spec for how much current they draw, but I'm gonna guess four lights would be around 0.5 amps.
Since @LaRea gave me a new project, I have to go all the way with it! I’ll be replacing my “Swim Light” switch cover with an “Engine Room Lights” switch cover. It’s nice that this switch isn’t being used and the wiring is already pre run. If you guys remember, this is the connection that my high water alarm float was connected to (wasn’t working at all). Crazy how it was like this, I wonder if it was like that from the factory.
What are the odds that I could bend these trim hoses without screwing them up? The originals had 90 degree bends, and the new ones are 45. I can make it work, but 90 would be better.
I used a 16’ LED waterproof light strip all the way around underneath the deck in the ER. It’s been there a few years now and becoming unstuck in places so when I redo I’ll stick up a clear beverage tube and slide it into that. Found a place to install a small switch and inline fuse to the house battery.
I'm waiting for the crane operator. The weather is nice, which means he's out doing his day job of cutting trees. Hoping for next week. There is literally not a single thing I can do until the engines are in.
The switch cover I ordered from GLS was labeled wrong so they had to cancel the order. If anyone knows where I can find a switch cover like I posted above with the lettering in the white box, let me know.
I never found one that was a perfect match, so I settled for the different style. It's at the far end of the row, so less obvious than if it was in the middle.
I couldn't find that style so I did the new wire marine style which looks much better and gives you many options for labeling. Can he expensive but it definitely looks better, especially in my case as they were all faded a little and worn.
You know it all looks nice and shiny, but those red and blue water lines are blinding bright! I think the engine room make look really cool under a black light. Think about, all that nice white glowing, and then the water lines look funky. (sorry, I need to get back off the wagon)
Wow looks great! Hey you could change out that genny intake line while you have all that room and nothing to do I did mine last spring and man would it have been nice to do with no engines in the way!

I was even thinking about switching out all the covers with new ones from here since I think I'd be better able to read them at night...

Would cost about $200.

There are a million places that make these. I got mine from https://vesselplacards.com/ for $45 but there might be cheaper ones out there.
