It's looking a bit better today!

There's a good chance the corrective cycle is almost over.  Many expecting Dec to be a good month for crypto.  But after the next mark up, GET OUT ... there is normally a BIG correction in crypto at the end of the final mark up ... like 80% to 85% correction!! LOL.

Stock market has been tough lately. September and October are notoriously tough months then you get the Santa Claus rally for an X-Mas run up. Typically happens every year. I have been doing this a long time and the last 2 months have been my worst this year so far. Even early November hasn't been going good but some of that is my fault as I started getting a little careless cause of the struggles I was seeing. Not saying it will happen but look for a run up to at least the middle of December then you often see selling the last week or so for tax losses. I don't typically hold anything that long to see these effects but just know it happens.

@Lake_Bum please share your results so far on that MLM ! Very curious.
It was sort of a shaky rollout on the app, but it is working well now. For a $10 investment,  I'll have $150 or so a month, completely passive from a free app.  Before anyone gets butthurt like last time, I'll just say, message me if you want to know more.

Well, I'm definitely down today, but I've been buying up a few different stocks today.  Always a good day to take advantage of some deals, especially for long term.  I bought some KO, SLB, V & NLY today.

I am talking with Morgan Stanley, that is who managed the account for almost 30 years....I assume they qualify as a financial advisor...I was asking an opinion on them. I do not enough about this stuff to go it on my own....
Your basis is what the stock was worth when it was transferred to you so any gain after that is yours

I had a good week this week. Monday was tough but Tuesday, Wednesday and today were good. Today I just kept buying QQQ puts on every bounce and with same day expirations a $1.00 move is about 50% profit. I traded a few other things too but QQQ puts was my bread and butter today. Tuesday it was AMD puts and Wednesday it was AMD calls...lol. Monday was just a mess.

Crypto back on the rise. It swings like a palm tree in the wind. If it goes past my buy in even 10% I'm out. Just can't handle the swings....and want booze money for the holidays.😄

SHIB (derivative of Doge coin) jumped 33% overnight. I bailed with a small profit. Think I'm done with crypto for a bit. I simply don't understand it well enough and the huge swings drive me crazy. Like putting money in a slot machine.

I have been letting my wife handle our crypto so we bought some at about .00007ish so we are down quite a bit. We only bought a couple hundred $ worth so no big deal but will see where it goes

I caution you on SHIB ... it's more of a joke than crypto. DOGECOIN is bad enough, SHIP is it's baby brother.  Very, very speculative.

There are better projects out there like ZEC, ETH, LINK, DOT, XRD.

You might be right but I day trade options and don't have time to research any crypto so let my wife handle that as her 'play' thing. Either way we doubled our money on BTC and ADA and pulled our initial investment back out so playing with house money now...lol

Well I have a debit card linked to my TD Ameritrade account. Back in March it got hacked for just over $500 and I had to get a new card. Well just happened again tonight. I now have alerts set up so any time it is used I get an alert on my phone instantly. Was sitting here on the couch tonight and got a text. $84.46 charged at Island Cuisine in Towson, MD. Called and had the card shut down again. I don't think there are any other charges pending cause I haven't got any other alerts but this card is linked to my day trading account. Not a bunch in there but that's the account I regularly trade. Frustrating. People need a swift roundhouse upside the head.

How many people get hacked a year? There isn't concise data on how many people get hacked a year. However, considering there are around 2,200 cyberattacks per day, that could equate to more than 800,000 people being hacked per year.

Made 2 rookie mistakes today. First was that I had a decent day going on a day that wasn't easy to trade. I know many see at the end of the day the market is up $600 but when you look closer you see that it gapped up about $300 then bounced around with a very slow grind up the rest of the day. So anyway, had a decent day then decided I wanted more (mistake 1). Bought 1 SPY put then meant to stop out but apparently added another one instead of selling the one I had (mistake 2). Didn't notice it until about an hour later when it had bounced back up and I was down quite a bit. Back at it tomorrow. Not sure I will trade much tomorrow. My Tuesdays are packed with meetings and usually my worst day for trading.

Definitely a good day today and yesterday in the market.  I have 3 stocks that I'm up over 50% on (LCID, HD, & AMAT) throughout this year (mostly from beginning of the year).  Leaving them ride cause next year looks good for all 3.
My CELZ was sure a dud and I took a large loss on it, well, I technically haven't pulled any $ out yet, just leaving it ride.  Might take it out for tax loss.

Another tough day in the market. Great if you hold overnight but for day trading it sucks. Gapped up again and after about 11:00 it was flat. Ended the day -$20 in my day trade account but my long term account was good today. Everything went up in it.

last couple days inching up $500 per day, but that has to continue, for awhile to catch up. My biggest winners this year were DDD, WFG, PSTG. Sold DDD in June for a good one.

This week has been tough for me. Made a little yesterday but lost money every other day this week. Tough week to day trade. Thankfully I'm going in light so losses are limited. Ended today down about $70 I think.

I guess I'm thinking kind of exact opposite.  I've been doing more buying of several things today because they seem like a bargain.

I guess my wording was a poor choice of words. I agree with you......now IS the dip, with opportunities abound!

I bought another 500 shares today of NLY.  Geez, hoping this buying is all good.  Gotta be for at least long term.
I am planning to sell a portion of my bad moves (CELZ, RKT, RIDE) before end of this year to at least equal out with my received dividends and other gains I took.

lol. My tax return is about 50 pages cause he has to enter all of my trades. I think one year I had over 1000 trades. You can upload it directly from TD Ameritrade into the Intuit software but for some reason it wouldn't work the one year so he had to manually type the. I think he charged me about $500 that year to do our taxes. Normally it's about $350

How's the Santa Claus rally doing for everyone?  I'm feeling pretty good about my investments for the past year and the rally has done me well.  I sold a few losses just to equal out some of my realized gains.

Santa must have thought I was a bad boy. I did good up until November. Since then a steady decline And have not recovered.

I don't know about Santa, but it's been a good year. My financials have brought in between 40 to 60% over the last 14 months. All large Canadian banks. Health and Life insurance company 26%. Grocery and Consumer Goods 18-24%. Health/Pharma 18%.
Worst performer was Energy/Oil at 10.5%. No losses for the year.
I'll take those returns anytime. Never touch it, look at it a couple of times a year. Sleep at night.

I'm with @Willhound - bought Canadian bank stocks and am up around 60%.  Wish I had bought more but it was in my TFSA (capped).
