For the wiper removal, I removed the old motor and replaced it with a rubber bumper. Then I aligned the walk-through window bumper with it. Works perfectly.
Love that idea. I'll get the old motor out first & figure out what to plug the hole with. Might even fiberglass/gelcoat the hole. Getting good at it. No need for a rubber bumper on the helm side on our boat.
Starboard side I am going to buy a new arm and wiper and leave the motor installed. I changed the rocker switch so it only cycles the starboard motor now.
My boat came with 4 Lumitec Seablaze 3 which were around 1700 lumens each. Two of the four went bad by the end of last summer so I decided to replace but was not looking to spend $400 ea for simmilar.
Decided to go with the Lumitec Seablaze Mini. Watched Amazon warehouse deals last winter and over time got two sets (come 2 per pack) for $180 per pack ($90 per light).
Around 800 lumens each so my expectations were that they would be just ok but we are very happy with them.
A long time coming but I finally got around to modifying the dash harness. Since I don’t need any of the gauge connectors anymore I removed them from the harness. Now it’s just a pigtail!
Wires to dash are just depth and compass illumination.
Replaced the shift detent balls. They were fine, but I found that the port drive had what I think is a small amount of water in the oil. Starboard oil was clean/no discolouration.
@YYZRC , did you see that out of the drain also or just when you pulled the cover? It’s tough to tell from the pic but could be water. I had a tiny bit of moisture when I drained my starboard side.
Just when I pulled the cover. I didn’t drain the drive completely. Guess I will do it in the spring just to be safe.
I've been told it is not good to leave the drive empty, you might want to drain out the rest and refill with new oil. If it shows contamination when draining maybe a vacuum/pressure test to determine the leak.
