What did you do to your boat today

So, the boat wasn’t running poorly at all, but it does accellerate  a little better and smoother, but I’m still a few hundred RPMs low. This is trimmed up as much at it can, giving it everything it has. Operating range should be 4500-5000 RPMs.

So, I’ve added quite a bit of weight. Each sub weighs 25 lbs, so that’s 50 lbs, and the box is an honest 200 lbs. the batteries are 90 lbs each, so that’s 480 lbs all added to the very back of the boat. This screen shot is just with me in the boat and less than half a tank of gas. Is 500 lbs enough to make it work harder like that?  Is it worth changing props, with it being close to the bottom of the operating range? Normal load is 4-6 people. Could the weight be why it’s not turning what it should. It has new fuel filters, plugs, wires, cap, and rotor.

When, I repainted my bilge I painted those areas with a little roller so they are protected a little now but I did notice frost on them when we brought it into the heated shop from the boat having water issues before I got it.  So with the heat from the shop while the engines were out for like 2 months they dryed up but like I said I think this fall when she comes out I will drill a few very small holes to dry the stringers out even more.  My next thing is to figure out where the rainwater comes from as I sealed the hardtop to main hull with Silcone and it still coming in I think the next thing is all the rails with 4200.

Hopefully the weather is nice on Saturday.  If so, I plan to 4000 the awning channel around the arch and the caps that cover the blower openings.  The original caulk is all worn away.  I think that will solve my water intrusion into the bilge.

I did the Cap that cover the Blowers already.  I have to do a proper leak test with a hose like you would with a roof of a house.  Seems worse on the Starboard side.  Maybe handy has some idea as he has a 400 as well?

@SimcoeRinker400 , you can reseal all of your windshield screws also. Water can get in through the garbage pail hole also if it’s set up like my 330 cockpit. There’s a pan and drain behind the cockpit fridge that drains into the bilge.

I was looking at the windshield looks like a fun job..  The 400 Cockpit is set up way different. I did check the fridge pans there dry as they should be.  Its just chasing leaks had my old 342 down to just the blower vents then I sold it of course    And I got people mixed up I meant Dream_Inn has a 400 he may know some of the leaks to fix?

I sealed around my fresh water port, transom shower and transom light. I found a lot of water intrusion happening there!!

@SimcoeRinker400 , did you see this drip by the adapter also? There’s a seal or 2 that’s probably dried out under there. You can try to tighten that bolt also.

I am chasing a few water leaks in my 410 also. The one that is giving me the most grief leaks water in my genny in the starboard rear corner. Have to figure that one out

@goalie59 , could it be coming from the “D” ring on your transom?

Areo3113 that's a drip of paint from the factory.  First,  I am going to tighten the fittings with my fitting wrench a 1/4 turn,  then see if it's leaking.  because when I took the pictures I already wiped my hand on it to find the leak.

We'll get cabinets around it but the size is good and it's nice to have something unique and different 🙂.

@goalie59 , could it be coming from the “D” ring on your transom?

”D” ring, not sure what you mean . I have a few spots around the base of the arch and the vent cover that I want to seal ,also my top guy did a crappy job, he has to come back to fix a few things.

@goalie59 this is a “D” Ring . It’s above the waterline but I have seen these let water in on rough days.

My d rings are good.  Tonight's modification was master bed.  I bought a bloom bed and cut it to size for the master.  Turned out really good and is super comfortable.  Little tip use your electric knife to cut the bed.

Another thing to check if you have a wet bilge and you run your genny is the drain hose that comes off the U - there’s a tiny duckbill in there that goes bad over time and will leak water into the bilge.

Okay, I never have my storage hatch open at the same time.  But I was surprised that we had to really basically go flat to the floor to get into the engine bay for the 370.  LaRea how wide does your engine hatch open?
@SimcoeRinker400 on my 2007 370, the hatch opens 22 inches above the deck.  Not as high as I had guessed, but definitely not a belly crawl to get in.

Today I replaced the foot switches for my windlass because one of the covers had broken off.  At first, I thought it was just a cosmetic issue.  When I accidentally stepped on a switch while handling lines, I realized that those covers are actually important.

Also installed a better anchor swivel.

    Hi LaRae,

Your measurements are the same as my buddy's 370.  That's less than the 400 just seems tight. Also the anchor swivel is sweet I need one of those, darn anchor chain has twisted twice this year so far and the anchor was backwards!  Great Mods!

I'll be honest, when you posted a pic recently of your bow pulpit I was surprised to see one of the anchor petal caps broken off! Nice work.

@LaRea , I replaced my pedals last season with the same ones, definitely nice quality. (I’m happy I removed that stripe!)

Got rid of my old 12v and replaced it with 2 6V in series that are about 170AH each.

We are getting things ready for a 4 day weekend as we and another club take over the marina down river for some big festival thing.
