checked my fuel level before this weekends launch. Im amazed at the range I get with this diesel. @Handymans342 brags about his yanmars. I filled my 116 gallon tank up in October of last year.
I also installed a diaphragm pump in the bilge. Plumbed it into the sink drain like someone else mentioned. I hooked it into the regular bilge switch so I just hit it when I get to the boat....or it will kick on if the bilge pump switch is activated. Bilge has never been so dry

Well, I had a 12 hour day working on the boat. She's waxed, including drives and engine room, winterized and covered, sleeping on her lift. Now ready for spring.I took my ibuprofen and ready for bed!
Glad I brought my bought in last week instead of tomorrow...

@Pat310 thank you for the great idea! I added a second outlet from the anchor wash-down pump I installed in the summer. Right now it's just zip tied in the engine bay as I've been contemplating where to install it - I really didn't want to mount it on the transom as it's ugly. Now I'm debating between putting it in that same cubby or maybe repurposing one of the cupholders next to the transom seat.
@YYZRC You could mount it in the transom locker as well? If you are installing it to wash off the swim platform, I would think somewhere in the back would be best. I do agree with not on the transom.
@Dream_Inn I considered the transom locker as I think it would be the ideal place but I couldn't come up with a spot that would allow me to mount it. There are no "inside walls" per say to attach it to.

You could glue a piece of stbd inside and then mount it on that.
yep agree with @Grahamu. I use my blowers whenever running the boat to keep the engine room temp down. But, we don't need to run them to start the boat. My buddy's 42' Viking doesn't have blowers installed and many diesel boats do not have them. We are lucky (Rinker/Cruisers) that our boats came with gas versions so they installed the blowers regardless of fuel type. Diesels use so much air that its nice to be able to keep bringing in fresh air and flush out the heat. I usually run them for a few min before starting for peace of mind but not always.
I run my blowers all the time when engines and/or genset are running for reasons posted by @Liberty44140 . A lot of boats have side vents that direct air into and out of the engine compartment but not on my 342.
Agree with both your comments I also let the turbo’s cool down at idle when docked and run the blower’s after turning the engines off as the heat still builds up in the engine room.
Picked up a new trailer last week. Salt water was not kind to my painted steel oem trailer. New galvanized with electric brakes. I spent most of my boat bucks on the trailer. Comes with 3 year warranty. My sons did the fitting for me. Got out for one last run and now winterized. Great season, the ol' 212 worked perfect this year.
Yea where on a small lake so no overnight or long day trips mostly anchor and enjoy the lake ,when we sold our 270 I didn’t think I’d miss the big platform that much

Yes self priming.
On the bright side, we’re one day closer to spring launch.
The admiral brought home a new Mantus S2 swivel today - new bits already!

Really like my Mantus stuff.
Got a new 8lb galvanized stern (M1) anchor this summer. That thing holds like a bandit. One of my faves.
