    @J3ff... just LOOK at that picture...beautiful!...a long time coming but now you will start next season with a wicked boat!

    You have the right break-in program. For the first 20 hours get it off idle as soon as safe and get it up on plane and once there vary the rpms from cruise (for you about 3500?) to about 4400 +/- with the rare ride up to wot.  

    Unless the manufacturer specified otherwise I would change the oil and filter at 20-22 hours and if you put more hours on it then change the oil and filter again when you put her away for the winter.

    Did the techs do an engine alignment? Did they lock the adjustment nuts down?

    You have 'nads of steel to stick with your boat through thin and well then thin again!....she owes you some good fun now!

    P.S. once you get that 383 broken-in right and are able to let her pull hard you will feel her power - even compared to a 350 Mag. You will FEEL the difference!

    It was a lot quicker of an install than I would have guessed. You hear of these horror stories of waiting MONTHS to get anywhere with boat yard misfit mechanics,  you have obviously found a good one. A good reliable boat yard at a reasonable price is really hard to find in my neck of the waters.

    didn't notice this till today... this boat has a TON of cup holders on it... 13 with the table up top... coming from a boat that had 4, this is mind blowing :)   had another great day on the boat... didn't go WOT but did give her enough gas to feel the get up and go. Pretty considerable.. the other thing I'm impressed with is how fast the boat turns in either direction. It's def. an "express cruiser"

    Aboslutely no problems at all today.. typing this from the rear seat - Will be out again all day tomorrow!

    That's excellent!  Great to see families enjoying the water!  You probably already know but remember to have the rear door to the swim platform open before you raise the engine hatch.  Otherwise the sliding bolt latch will break and it's about a $60 part.

    Funny, it's just always been open when opening it.

    However... to get the lock to actually lock you have to put most of your weight on the door. I was just saying to my buddy "yeah, another thing to fix, and I have no idea what is all involved"

    I guess maybe the previous owner opened it with the door shut... and I'm in it for another 60 bucks in parts :)

    @J3ff that first picture is something else.  Is that from your phone?

    Glad to see and hear you had a great weekend.  

    I actually put a label by my engine hatch toggle to remind me.  I once thought "ill never forget to open the door"...crack.  Still have not replaced the plastic piece.

    @J3ff,  Any chance you can post the exact order you placed for the switches with part numbers? Maybe a pic of the receipt? Just about every 270 owner needs those replaced by now. Also, do they illuminate like the old ones? I saw a pic of replacement switches on here that didn't look like they lit up.  
    Those sunset pics are nice, glad to see your enjoying the boat.

    @Trashman - There are 2 components to what we commonly refer to as the "switch"; the actuator and the underlying switch contact mechanism that (includes the illumination source).  The actuators are easily removed with a removal tool.

    As long as the switch contact mechanism is performing as you like, you can replace only the actuator to achieve a fresh look.  The switches are Carling V-Series Contura II rockers.  The following thread has links for replacement actuators and switch contact mechanisms.  Note that you can get actuators that have the stock white lens or you could select a different color like red (as @J3ff's did) for an updated look.  The last link is for the Carling V-Series Contura II data sheet.

    Great pictures @J3ff !!! Nothing more enjoyable than those little ones smiling and having a great time on the boat.

    I checked out the actuators site and I need to get the "Low Beer" actuator for my extra Acc switch location. That one cracks me up almost as much as the "Eject" one. :p
