last summer i had to build a new engine hatch cover. The original one was a slick as ice and rotten. It's made out of biaxle woven fiberglass and 3/4 inch CDX. Held together with epoxy resin. The paint is an industrial roof paint, acrylic. Its rated for 10 years. Rolled on for texture. It's softer than gel coat but closely matched the non skid oem gelcoat color and texture. It's a little dirty from walking over for months of restoration work but she'll get bleached in the next few weekends. I added a hinge to the assembly to allow easy access to checking engine fluids as well as ventilation during transport/fueling.
coated all the teak work ive done in resin. This is the set up the admiral wanted, she can now watch a dvd while doing her hair and makup before work while eating breakfast in bed.
Enjoying fruits of my labor. Next step is doing this on water. Admiral is already on my case to launch. Wish we didn't have a wedding to attend next weekend.
I bought a pair of folding stadium chairs. I think they will come in handy sitting up on the bow. They recline to different positions and store nice and flat also.

Got the same in blue from west marine when there were half off. Use on the bow as well as the swim platform, good fit to hang the legs in the water.
@icoultha I got these off of eBay, they seem like very good quality. They also have backpack straps to carry them on the backside. Couldn’t pass up the price compared to West Marine. On the swim platform will be nice also!
It'll be a few weeks yet before being able to work on the boat but since I'm stuck at home I did finally get around to installing an hour meter on the inverter generator that I use on the boat.
It was over 80 degrees today and it was my day off work. I loaded a few more thing on the boat and installed isenglass too. Still left her covered, I guess to keep her clean for another week...or two.
If you have a white bimini or any white canvass a good soak in a chlorine pool will give a good bleaching. This works great for sails. Pool owners dont appreciate it, ask end of season
I had to give a LOL. Who else got the meaning of the decal?😂
The admiral has had this name picked out for years. Im sure it will get some weird looks trailering down the highway.
She also bought me the sailboat sticker on the back of my excursion that says "blow me"
I think she just enjoys me getting dirty looks. While my area of South Carolina isnt as conservative as it was 25 years ago, many of the people here would find an episode of Seinfeld extremely offensive.

I've also added 4 rod holders to the transom.
