Two hunters in the woods. They come across some tracks and start a discussion about just what kind of animal made these tracks. As they argued, they were killed by a train.
I believe the accident happened some time ago (like last Summer) and is now going to court as one of the "jumpers" is suing - so CNN etc. picked-up the lead. Nevertheless it is a vibrant example of an idiot "captain".
I posted this once before - we live in a condo looking down on a marina. It is a never ending show of docking insanity. Best pre-divorce docking yet, guy with a 38- foot cruiser tells the Admiral to get onto the swim platform so she can step onto dock. He realizes he's going to ram the dock, guns the boat, the Admiral is thrown off the swim platform into the water. Now he realizes he's going across the fairway and is going to hit a big Sea Ray bow to bow and guns it in reverse. His Admiral is now trapped in the open slip with another boat in the other half, she can't climb onto the dock and he's gunning it straight for her. Finally enough people are screaming at him and another captain is hauling his Admiral out that he gets it. A friend in our condo yelled out to him "Buddy the only thing that may save your a$$ is an trip to a jewelry store.
IMO the only thing worse than knocking a chunk of fiberglass out of your hull is blaming it on the Admiral. The former is a pain the later is deadly!
Where we are docked now I found the best solution to the whole problem - she docks by pulling in straight alongside and I jump off and grab ropes. This year may change when we move to stern in and I become the pilot again
